Biography
Mike Buschelman is a water rights specialist for Farr West Engineering. Mike is one of the most valued resources for water rights management and strategic planning in the State of Nevada. Since 1975, Mike has been continuously employed in the field of water rights and water planning as an Assistant to the Federal District Courts Water Master administrating the Orr Ditch (Truckee River) and the Carson River Decrees, as a Hydraulic Engineer for the Division of Water Resources Nevada State Engineer, as the Chief Water Right and Water Planning Specialist for Kennedy/Jenks/Chilton Consulting Engineers, as Manager of the Elko District Office of Summit Engineering, and as Manager of the Water Right Department of Summit Engineering. Mike is responsible for water related projects associated with land development, agriculture, commercial, industrial, mining, municipal, quasi-municipal, and recreation. His duties include coordination with the client, research and administration of water rights, representing clients during hearings, field investigations, analysis of legal and administrative decisions affecting water rights, and expert testimony. Mike is also responsible for preparing the required supporting water right maps in accordance with Nevada Revised Statutes, filing necessary documents to satisfy the State Engineer's due dates, performing required water measurements, field surveys, collecting and researching documents for the transfer of water right ownership, providing water right abstracts and consultation. Mike has been instructing Nevada Water Right classes since 1981. He is an accredited instructor through the Nevada State Department of Business in Nevada Water Rights.
