Biography
Upon getting his Ph.D., Dr. Van Treese worked as a school psychologist for several years and then shifted to clinical practice. He opened Regional Psychology in 1982 and continues to be clinical director there. He has expertise in school psychology, clinical psychology and forensic psychology. In forensic psychology, he consults on cases including abuse and torture, family and criminal matters. He has handled forensic cases including murder. He has consulted with county, state and federal Courts. In 1999, Dr. Van Treese starting teaching at Ferris. He has helped develop a forensic psychology component to the program.
Research Interest
Dr. Van Treese mentors psychology students interested in research. He, along with Dr. Richmond, have an undergraduate research team. The undergraduates have presented research over the past several years at the annual Michigan Undergraduate Research Conference and at the National Association of School Psychologists.
