Biography

David Johnson is the Medical Director of FNCH and an internal medicine physician, caring for all adult patients with acute and chronic conditions. He specializes in chronic disease care for adults with diabetes, arthritis and heart disease. He joined FNCH in July 2013 after 10 years at Albuquerque Indian Health Center where he cared for patients and served as the Clinical Director. From 1998-2003, he worked at the Crownpoint IHS. During his time at IHS, Dr. Johnson was involved with Improving Patient Care Initiative and in developing a medical home. He grew up in upstate New York and trained at Cornell University, Albany Medical College and the University of Rochester. He is a Captain with the Commissioned Officer in the US Public Health Service. He is married and has 3 children. In his spare time he enjoys woodworking, running and gardening.
