Biography
Dr. Shabbir B. Bambot, Ph.D. serves as the Chief Technology Officer of LumaMed LLC. Dr. Bambot Co-Founded Guided Therapeutics Inc. (formerly, SpectRx Inc.) and served as its Vice President of Research and Development since June 2007 until May 10, 2013. Dr. Bambot joined SpectRx Inc. in February 1997 and served as its Senior Scientist, Assistant Director of New Product Development and Director of New Product Development. He has several years of experience in developing innovative medical devices, intellectual property development, regulatory strategy and clinical trials. Dr. Bambot has several patents and publications in the areas of clinical monitoring and diagnostics and is the recipient of multiple NIH SBIR grants totaling in excess of $6.0 million for developing non-invasive diagnostic devices. He is a frequent reviewer of scientific papers and NIH grant applications and chairs symposia at scientific meetings. He has a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh.
