Research Interest
Dr. Sohn’s research focuses on the nature of natural organic matter found in terrestrial and aquatic environments, including marine, estuarine and freshwater systems. A major emphasis of her work is to correlate chemical structural information of natural organic matter with differences in reactivity toward environmentally important metal ions, pollutants and nanoparticles. Dr. Sohn is also interested in aquatic geochemistry, analysis and geochemistry of trace metals and organics, environmental chemistry, and analysis of environmentally relevant substances by GC/MS, NMR, fluorescence and AA.
