Biography
Dr. Mahant is a Board Certified Neurologist specializing in Movement Disorders. She graduated from the Medical College of Pennsylvania and completed her residency in Neurology at the University of Rochester. She then completed a fellowship in Movement Disorders at Barrow Neurological Institute. Dr. Mahant has a comprehensive approach in her treatment of patients with conditions such as Parkinson’s disease, Essential Tremor, Cervical Dystonia, Blepharospasm, Hemifacial Spasm, Generalized Dystonia, Tourette’s Syndrome, Restless Legs Syndrome, Huntington’s Disease, and Wilson’s Disease. Dr. Mahant regularly speaks for patient and physician groups on topics related to movement disorders. She has contributed to clinical research in Parkinson’s disease, blepharospasm, as well as motor control research, through her clinical affiliation with ASU’s Center for Adaptive Neural Systems. She is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, the International Parkinson’s and Movement Disorder Society, the Parkinson’s Study Group, as well as the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.
