Biography
Ann E. Woolfrey, MD, is attending physician at Seattle Children’s Hospital and associate member of the Clinical Research Division at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center (FHCRC). She is director of the Unrelated Marrow Donor Program for the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. Nationally, she serves on the Board of Directors of the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP), and is a member of the Cord Blood Advisory Group and of the Histocompatibility Advisory Group for the NMDP; in addition, she serves on the National Steering Committee of the Radiation Injury Treatment Network, the Center for International Bone Marrow Transplant Research (CIBMTR) Physician Taskforce, the CIBMTR Pediatric Transplant Steering committee, the Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplant Clinical Trials Network (PBMT-CTN) Nonmalignant disease commity, and the PBMT-CTN Cellular Therapy committee.
Research Interest
Dr. Woolfrey’s research interests involve pediatric oncology, particularly leukemia, and processes of stem cell, blood and marrow transplant. She is involved in several studies on overcoming genetic barriers in hematopoietic stem cell transplant, identifying non-myeloablative transplants for nonmalignant disorders and investigating the use of blood stem cell and marrow transplant from HLA-compatible related and unrelated donors
