Biography
Dr. Cecilia Yeung is a hematopathologist in the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance Clinical Pathology Lab, a molecular genetics pathologist who serves as the assistant director in the molecular oncology lab at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, and a UW assistant professor in the Department of Pathology. She completed two fellowships in molecular genetics pathology and hematopathology at Washington University in St. Louis. Dr. Yeung received her medical degree from Penn State College of Medicine and conducted her anatomic and clinical pathology residency at the University of California Davis Medical Center. One of her passions includes teaching residents, fellows and medical students. As a part of the UWMC pathology faculty, she heads efforts to expand molecular pathology education. She is also an active faculty in the molecular genetics fellowship and currently functions as the chair of the clinical competency committee.
Research Interest
Dr. Yeung studies novel molecular markers in myeloid neoplasms including acute myeloid leukemias, myelodysplastic syndromes, and myeloproliferative neoplasms. She hopes to discover useful biomarkers which aid in diagnosis, prognosis and may guide future therapies.
