Biography
served as Chairman from March 2006 to January 2008, after having served as Vice Chairman since September 2005. Mr. Smith is a former member of the U.S. Secretary of Defense’s Defense Science Board, serving from 2002 to 2005. He was an Executive Vice President of Lockheed Martin and head of its Integrated Systems & Solutions business until 2004. From 1999 to 2003, Mr. Smith was Executive Vice President of Lockheed Martin’s Space Systems Company. Prior to that, he was President of Government Systems at Harris Corporation. He has served as a director of the Curtiss Wright Corporation, a multinational provider of highly engineered products and services, since 2006, and is currently a member of its finance and compensation committees. He has served as a director of CDI Corporation, a professional services company, since 2008, and has been a member of its finance and compensation committees since 2008. Mr. Smith also served on the Board of Trustees of Aerospace Corporation from 2005 to 2007.
