Laura O’donnell

Biography

 Laura started her professional career at Michigan State University and graduated with a B.A. degree in political science in 1993.  Thereafter, she attended Indiana University-Bloomington School of Law and graduated with a Juris Doctorate in 1996.  Immediately upon graduation of law school, Laura started working at the law firm of Faegre, Baker & Daniels and during her eight (8) years there provided counseling and litigation support to clients in a variety of industries on multiple commercial and other issues.  In 2004, Laura was voted into the firm as an equity partner.  In 2005, Zimmer Holdings Inc., a $5B health care company and one of Laura’s clients, asked her to join the company as its Global Chief Compliance Officer. At Zimmer, Laura was a member of the company’s global operating committee and handled the company’s compliance with a Corporate Integrity Agreement with the Office of Inspector General/HHS and a Deferred Prosecution Agreement with the Department of Justice. Additionally, she partnered with all functions at Zimmer to manage through multiple commercial, R&D, marketing and other challenges. In 2009, Laura joined GE Healthcare as its Chief Compliance Counsel in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin.  In March 2015, Laura became General Counsel, Global Services & Privacy and in February 2016, Laura was promoted to VP and General Counsel for GE Healthcare.  Laura is the co-leader for the GE Healthcare's Women's Network as well as an executive sponsor for the iCare United Way campaign. In her personal time, Laura is very active with First Lego League.
