Biography

Murat is the Regional General Manager for South Asia Region, for GE’s Power Services business, a $15 billion organization within GE Power. Based in Baden, Switzerland, Power Services is a combination of two of the best service teams in the power industry – GE’s Power Generation Services and Alstom’s Thermal Services. The largest industrial services business in GE, Power Services has approximately 26,000 people in more than 150 countries. Power Services offers customers total plant capabilities, expanded local resources and expertise, and stronger collaboration opportunities to help them be more successful.   In this role, Murat is responsible for driving Power Services growth and execution in South Asia region. He oversees all operational functions in the region covering parts, field services, upgrades and project management, on-site repairs, and training. He is responsible for developing and delivering a regional services strategy that offers customers the technology, knowledge and insight they need to manage the entire lifecycle of their power plants, ultimately providing reliable power to people around the world.   Murat brings extensive services expertise to this role. He began his GE career in 2001 as a contract performance manager for the Contractual Services business in Turkey. Since then, he has held a variety of the services roles with increasing leadership, including fleet manager based in the United Kingdom, as well as operations manager for North Europe. In 2010, he was promoted to the role of General Manager for Eastern Europe for Power Generation Services. He continued this role as GE acquired Alstom’s Thermal Services business in 2015 and became Power Services.    Murat was born in Ankara, Turkey.  He attended Middle East technical University in Ankara Turkey and graduated with a B.Sc. degree in Aeronautical engineering in 1990.  Prior to joining GE, Murat spent more than 12 years in the military aircraft engines industry in a variety of technical and management positions.
