Biography
Mr. Ronayne is a Senior Engineer and Vice-President of GEM Engineering, Inc. He also is the Safety Coordinator and Radiation Safety Officer. Mr. Ronayne is a Geotechnical Engineer with more than 30 years of consulting experience involving many projects in Kentucky, Indiana and surrounding states. He is well versed in the soil, bedrock and groundwater conditions that affect construction in this region including karst terrain and the lake-bed, river deposited, and glacial materials that can pose special construction problems. His experience includes most geotechnical aspects of commercial, manufacturing, educational, institutional, private, and municipal building sites, as well as other structures such as tanks, treatment plants, towers, dams, and bridges. Mr. Ronayne has extensive experience with several facets of geotechnical engineering, including the following: subsurface exploration; shallow foundation design; auger cast pile, driven pile, drilled piers design, installation, and load testing; settlement analysis; slope stability; lateral earth pressure analysis; design of highway and aircraft pavements; design and analysis of retaining structures; construction dewatering; evaluation of seepage and drainage problems; soil stabilization; site preparation and earthwork; grouting; geotechnical instrumentation and in-situ testing; geosynthetics; subsidence; landfill site selection; site suitability appraisals; pre-condition surveys; sand and gravel reserve studies’ and expert services.
