Biography
Dr. Olson is retired as Research Associate Professor, Department of Medicine, Division of Gerontology and Geriatric Medicine at the University of Washington School of Medicine. Likewise, he retired as Chief, Cardiovascular Pharmacology Research at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center and Associate Director, Mountain States Tumor and Medical Research Institute (Boise, ID). He remains an adjunct Associate Professor, Departments of Allied Health Sciences at Boise State University and Pharmaceutical Sciences at Idaho State University. Earlier, Dr. Olson was Assistant Professor of Pharmacology and Pediatrics at the University of South Alabama School of Medicine and Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Pharmacology and Chief, Pediatric Clinical Pharmacology Unit at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. He is on the Editorial Board of Cardiovascular Toxicologyand is a reviewer for several biomedical journals. Dr. Olson received his Ph.D. in Pharmacology from Vanderbilt University and his post-doctoral training in clinical pharmacology at University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. He is a principal investigator in the areas of cardiovascular pharmacology of anthracyclines, mechanisms of drug action, and geriatric research.
