Biography
Francisco Portell is one of the founders of Gencia and a Senior Scientist. While at the University of Virginia Center for Neurodegeneration, he researched mitochondrial dysfunction in Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. Francisco leads the biologics development program at Gencia and worked with industry experts on bacterial genetics, fermentation, tangential flow filtration, chromatography and formulation.
