Bill Anderson

Biography

 Bill Anderson is Head of Global Product Strategy for Roche Pharma, based in Basel, Switzerland. In this role he is responsible for two major functions: product and portfolio stewardship, which includes leadership of cross-functional teams to develop and launch new drugs and indications, and global commercial excellence, including marketing, strategic analytics, pricing and market access, and public affairs. He co-chairs Roche’s late-stage portfolio committee, with direct accountability for new formulations and devices, geographic expansion, and post-marketing investments. Prior to this role Anderson spent three years as the Senior Vice President for the BioOncology Business Unit in the U.S. In this role he led marketing and sales for Genentech’s industry-leading cancer portfolio and oversaw the launch of four new cancer drugs. Prior to this, Anderson was Senior Vice President of the Immunology and Ophthalmology Business Unit and was responsible for promotion of the company’s medicines for asthma, rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, and macular degeneration. Anderson joined Genentech in 2006. Prior to Genentech, Anderson was Vice President of the Neurology Business Unit at Biogen Idec. Before that, Anderson was Biogen’s Vice President of Finance with oversight of global planning, budgeting and deal evaluations. In this role he led the financial integration of Biogen and Idec Pharmaceuticals. He earlier held the role of Country Head for Biogen’s United Kingdom & Ireland operations. Anderson started his career in manufacturing as a process engineer and operations team lead with Ethyl Corporation in the Netherlands and Belgium. He also held business and market development positions at Raychem Corporation. Anderson holds a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from the University of Texas, Austin, and Master of Science degrees in management and chemical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
