Biography
Michael D. Bolon serves as Chief Technical Officer of General Dynamics Land Systems Inc. and has been its Senior Vice President of Enterprise Strategy since August 2000. Mr. Bolon served as General Dynamics Land Systems' Senior Vice President of Engineering, Design & Development since August 2000. He joined Chrysler Corporation in 1968 as an Engineer in the defense power train engineering department. When General Dynamics acquired Chrysler Defense in 1982, he served as Deputy Program Manager for Tank Programs and led the M1A1 Abrams main battle tank engineering program. He served positions of increasing responsibility in engineering and program management, including appointments as vice president for Amphibious Systems in Woodbridge, Va., and Vice President for Production & Delivery. Mr. Bolon holds a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and a master's degree in Engineering, both from Wayne State University, Detroit. In 2003, he received the Distinguished Engineering Alumni Award from that institution.
