Biography
As executive vice president of Supply Chain, John Church has responsibility for worldwide sourcing, sustainability, product logistics, manufacturing, global engineering and safety. He assumed this position in 2008. Church's role in Global Business solutions is to lead growth and drive efficiency through standard processes that reduce complexity, increase focus and enable faster decision making. Church joined General Mills in 1988 as a product developer in the Big G cereal division. He led several new product initiatives, including the development and commercialization of MultiGrain Cheerios in 1991. He transferred into manufacturing in 1993 and held leadership roles before becoming plant manager of the Covington, Georgia, plant in 1998. Church returned to Minneapolis in 2001 as director of Operations, Integration, where he led the successful integration of the manufacturing and logistics networks of The Pillsbury Company and General Mills. He was named vice president, Engineering in 2003. Church represents General Mills as a board member for Cereal Partners Worldwide, a joint venture with Nestlé, S.A. He is also a board member of Yoplait S.A. and Allina Health.
