Biography
William (Bill) Guptail joined Genoa in March 2016 as Senior Vice President, Payor Relations. Guptail comes to Genoa having most recently served as President – West Region, Complex Care Management for OptumCare. During his 14-year tenure at UHC and Optum, Guptail served in a variety of leadership positions, including national roles in clinical operations and product leadership. He also served as the Chief Operating Officer and Plan President of UnitedHealthcare Community and State in Hawaii from 2009–2013. Guptail also held previous leadership positions at Healthnexis and Novartis Medical Nutrition. Guptail has a bachelor’s in Human Resources Management and music minor from Millikin University and MBA from St. Thomas University. Guptail’s role in Payor Relations includes oversight of the company’s navigation of the ever-changing landscape across Medicare, Medicaid and commercial health plans. He is based out of the company’s Eagan, Minnesota office.
