Biography
Dr. Alexandra Masterson is a Term Assistant Professor in the Department of Biology at George Mason University, where she teaches introductory and advanced human anatomy and physiology. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of the Pacific, M.S. Ed. (with a science education concentration) from Old Dominion University, and a B.A. in Biology from California State University-Fresno. She is a licensed pharmacist in Virginia and California and has over twenty-eight years of clinical pharmacy experience, primarily in hospital settings, both in the federal government and private industry. Dr. Masterson serves as the faculty advisor for the Pre-Pharmacy Honor Society and has been a Grand Prize Judge for many years at the Fairfax County Regional Science Fair. She has had a long-time professional interest in anti-coagulants and was a guest speaker on this subject at the Joint Armed Forces Pharmacy Conference in Atlanta in 2006.
