Paul Lirette

Biography

 Mr. Paul Lirette has been the President at GlaxoSmithKline Inc., since June 2012. Mr. Lirette serves as President of Canada Pharmaceuticals. He is responsible for all pharmaceutical operations in Canada. He is an industry leader with 25 years of global pharmaceutical experience and has held international leadership roles with GSK in both Europe and Australia. Previously, he was based in the UK and served as Senior Vice President at GlaxoSmithKline and Area Director for Central Europe from 2008 to 2012. With oversight of GSK’s business in 12 European countries, Mr. Lirette also had responsibility for GSK’s operating model for Immunology & Hepatitis in Europe, Emerging Markets as well as Asia Pacific and Japan. In addition to his responsibilities with GSK in Europe, Mr. Lirette served as Chairman of the Central and Eastern European Task Force for the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA). He also represented national associations and companies from Europe at EFPIA’s Heads of Europe committee. He served as GSK’s Australasia Area Director and General Manager from 2005 to 2008 and had oversight of the operations in Australia and New Zealand. In this role, Mr.Lirette was instrumental in championing healthcare innovation to the Australian government and was recognized for his work by being nominated Managing Director of the Year by the President of GSK International. In 2001, Mr. Lirette was appointed Vice President of Sales & Marketing at GSK in Canada, where he led its national sales operations and strategic marketing initiative for four years.
