Alan H. Aront

Biography

A senior technical advisor for GS&P’s Water Resources market, Alan has more than four decades of experience in water and wastewater facilities design and construction, industrial water and wastewater treatment, water and wastewater treatment plant operation, maintenance and operator training. Specializing in the management of complex projects, Alan is uniquely adept in construction and program management of water and wastewater capital facilities. He has worked with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, serving as project manager on the 17th Street and London Avenue and Canal Street temporary pump stations project for the City of New Orleans, and has provided integrated program management and project management services for Gwinnett County Water Resources for a $1 billion-plus program aimed at providing new capacity and upgrades to the County’s existing water and wastewater facilities. Alan is currently working on a major construction management program with Metro Water Services, the $1 billion, 12-year Cleanwater Nashville Overflow Abatement Program (Nashville and Davidson County), serving as senior technical advisor.     A professional engineer, Alan has held licensure in Tennessee, North Carolina, Florida and Illinois. He attended the University of Florida where he obtained a Bachelor of Science/Chemical Engineering and a Master of Engineering/Environmental Engineering. During his career, Alan has been a member of numerous professional organizations including the American Water Works Association, the Water Environment Federation and the Society of American Military Engineers, and has served as national chairman of the Engineering Excellence Awards Committee for the American Council of Engineering Companies
