Biography
Corie Baker is a senior architect in GS&P’s Richmond office who focuses on healthcare and sustainable design. With more than ten years of experience in the healthcare, education, neighborhood planning, senior living and government sectors, she has a keen ability to find the best energy and environmental design strategies for creating low-maintenance, durable and energy efficient projects that achieve full-lifecycle cost savings. The eight years Corie spent in marketing and advertising before earning a master’s degree in architecture from the University of Maryland give her a unique perspective and penchant for outside-the-box thinking. Corie takes a leading role in GS&P’s work to advance sustainable design solutions. As the Market Sustainability Leader for the firm’s healthcare practice, she is integrally involved in setting sustainable goals for the firm and assists project teams in identifying appropriate sustainable strategies for their individual clients. Corie has also served as a LEED Administrator, helping clients achieve their LEED certification goals. She is an active member of the Urban Land Institute, the U.S. Green Building Council and the American Institute of Architects and has previously spoken at GreenBuild International Conference and Expo on sustainability in historic structures.
