Biography

An environmental engineer based out of GS&P’s Cincinnati office, Dempsey has worked on a wide variety of water and wastewater projects since joining the firm in 2010. He has developed specialized expertise in sustainable infrastructure, water resource management and facility-level information management. Dempsey brings several key areas of proficiency to GS&P, including his knowledge of construction documents, surveying and translating survey data into base plans, the design development of water infrastructure and stormwater asset management. In addition, he provides a broad understanding of GIS and the interface of ArcMap software with surveying outputs, land use planning applications, water resource management (with a focus on green infrastructure), and facility-level information management. Dempsey also has first-hand experience working with the City of Dallas on the development of a citywide comprehensive dredge management plan in which he provided extensive database and GIS project support. Dempsey is a graduate of the University of Louisville where he earned both a Bachelor of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering and a Master of Engineering in Civil and Environmental Engineering. He is active in a number of professional organizations and societies including the National Society of Professional Engineers, the Water Environment Association and the American Society of Civil Engineers. He recently graduated from the 2013 Water Leadership Institute program, a prestigious six-month training program that gathers emerging industry leaders to discuss future trends and innovations
