Biography
A senior Water Resources engineer, Mark is based out of GS&P’s Atlanta office and has more than 16 years of experience in the design of water and wastewater infrastructure. As one of GS&P’s Focus Area Leaders in wet weather pumping, Mark has extensive experience with the design and construction of wastewater and water treatment plants, pump stations and wet weather storage facilities. Mark has been responsible for the design of sludge pump stations, aeration systems, primary and secondary clarifiers, equalization tanks, UV disinfection and reaeration systems. In addition, he provides construction inspection services including verifying compliance with design drawings and specifications, resolving conflicts between design and field conditions, reviewing contractor pay applications and tracking progress against construction schedules. Mark’s other areas of expertise include a strong emphasis on erosion and sedimentation control measure installation, inspection, maintenance recommendations and problem resolution. His extensive range of experience also comprises hydrologic analysis, stormwater conveyance and storage, yard piping, road design, drainage and grading, and erosion and sedimentation control design. He served as project engineer on the Bowdon Water Pollution Control Plant project, as well as project manager on both the Southeast Atlanta Green Infrastructure (Phases 1 and 2) and the Dekalb County lift station improvement program. Mark is a professional engineer licensed in Georgia and Tennessee and holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. During his career he has been active in a variety of professional organizations and societies including the American Water Works Association, the Water Environment Federation and the Georgia Association of Water Professionals.
