Biography
Marshall serves as a Senior Vice President for GS&P’s Transportation market, leading numerous market-wide special growth initiatives. He works from our Lexington and Nashville offices. Marshall applies his extensive transportation knowledge to help advance the industry and meet the future needs of society and the environment. Marshall is passionate about innovative multimodal designs that transform urban streets and transportation networks. Marshall joined GS&P in 1997 following a 22-year tenure providing transportation and engineering services to local governments in Tennessee, Colorado, Texas and California. Throughout his career, Marshall’s diverse experience has encompassed transportation policy and planning, systems management and operations, community planning, transit planning and operations, integrated design for roadway, pedestrian and bicycle facilities, access management and traffic safety analysis. Recognized as a national industry leader, Marshall is active with the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE), Intelligent Transportation Society (ITS) of America, National Complete Streets Coalition (NCSC), American Public Works Association (APWA) and other organizations. He has contributed to numerous transportation publications including ITE’s Urban Street Design Handbook, ITE’s Designing Walkable Urban Thoroughfares: A Context Sensitive Approach, and the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO)’s Policy on Geometric Design of Highways and Streets (Green Book). Marshall earned a Bachelor of Science in Transportation Engineering and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Tennessee.
