Biography
Mike is a senior environmental engineer with more than 30 years of experience in the planning, design and construction of wastewater collection, transmission and treatment systems, and sewer system rehab. As a member of Metro Nashville’s Overflow Abatement Program, Knoxville Utilities Board’s PACE10 Program, and as the program engineer for Springfield’s Clean Water Overflow Abatement Program, he has been involved in all facets of program management, the development of capacity, management, operations and maintenance program elements, asset management, and the development of strategies and solutions to control and eliminate combined and separate sanitary sewer overflows. Mike is one of GS&P’s Focus Area Leaders in the evaluation and rehabilitation of collection systems and the application of trenchless technologies. He has unparalleled experience in the evaluation of combined and separate sewer overflows, the reduction of infiltration and inflow from wastewater collection systems, the analysis and use of sewer flow monitoring data, and the computer simulation of storm and sanitary sewers. Mike has more than 20 years of experience working on sewer rehabilitation projects, providing resident engineering, assessment services, system characterization, engineering analysis, design, construction and project management services. Recognized in the industry as a wet weather expert, he has worked on several hydraulic modeling and collection system evaluation projects for clients including Nashville’s Metro Water Services, Bowling Green Municipal Utilities, Knoxville Utilities Board, Clarksville Gas, the City of Springfield and Louisville’s Metropolitan Services District. Mike is a professional engineer licensed in Tennessee, Kentucky, Georgia and Ohio, and holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Vanderbilt University. Throughout his career, he has been active in a variety of professional organizations and societies including the Kentucky-Tennessee Water Environment Association and the Water Environment Federation.
