Anders B. Bjarngard

Biography

 Anders Bjarngard started with GZA in 1984 after completing his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.  In 1987, he took leave to complete his Master of Science in Geotechnical Engineering from Tufts University and rejoined GZA in 1989.  Since that time he has worked in several of GZA’s civil engineering disciplines but has focused primarily on geotechnical engineering, dam engineering and most recently waterfront engineering. Anders currently is a Principal and manages GZA’s Newburyport and Hingham, Massachusetts offices.  Having worked extensively with municipal, state and federal clients, Anders also serves as GZA’s company-wide Governmental Client Sector Lead.  He is a Massachusetts Licensed Professional Civil Engineer and a member of the Society of American Military Engineers, the American Society of Civil Engineers, the Boston Society of Civil Engineers, the Geo Institute, the United States Society on Dams and the Association of State Dam Officials.

Research Interest

 He focused primarily on geotechnical engineering, dam engineering and most recently waterfront engineering.
