Biography

Carlos is a Partner at Hancock Askew, with over 23 years of experience in public accounting, consulting and private business. Most recently, he served as a Partner at Goldstein Schechter Koch. He worked there for over 13 years. Carlos started his career at Deloitte & Touche, LLP and has gained significant experience in the areas of auditing, merger and acquisition assistance and consulting as it relates primarily to real estate, healthcare, restaurants and hospitality, manufacturing, not-for-profits, professional services and technology. Carlos did his undergraduate work at the University of Miami and conducted his MBA from Florida International University. He was adjunct professor at the University of Miami for 10 years, thru 2009. He is licensed to practice accounting in both Florida and South Carolina. Carlos is a member of member of the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Carlos is heavily involved in the community, in various civic and charitable organizations. He just completed his 3 year term as Chair of the Coral Gables Community Foundation. He is on the Board of Directors of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, as well as former Treasurer and member of the Executive Committee, member of Leadership Florida and Chair of the Southeast Region, and member of the Orange Bowl Committee. He has also formerly served the following organizations: Board member, Vice President and Treasurer of the Kiwanis Club of Little Havana, on the Board of and Marketing Committee Chair of the Zoological Society of Florida, Board member of Rhythm Foundation, member of Florida International University’s School Accounting Advisory Board, member of the BDO Alliance USA Alliance Partners’ Advisory Council Board
