Biography
Dr. Michael S. Cuffe is the president of the Physician Services Group for Nashville, Tennessee-based, HCA, the nation’s leading provider of healthcare services. The Physician Services Group currently oversees more than 9,000 providers, 4,100 in direct and foundation employment models and more than 5,000 via joint ventures, and handles physician strategy, urgent care, recruiting, graduate medical education and practice management for HCA. Dr. Cuffe joined HCA in October 2011. Prior to this position, he served as vice president for ambulatory services and chief medical officer for Duke University Health System. He previously served as vice president, medical affairs of Duke University Health System from 2005 to 2011, as well as in various leadership roles in the Duke Clinical Research Institute. Dr. Cuffe was also Vice Dean for Medical Affairs of the Duke University School of Medicine. Dr. Cuffe is a graduate of MIT, and received his MD and MBA degree from Duke University in 1991 and 2009, respectively. He also completed his residency in internal medicine and fellowship in Cardiology at Duke University. He and his wife, Dr. Rowena Dolor Cuffe, have three children.
