Biography
The purchase price was $650,000, says Barry Reynolds, CEO of Heartland Cardiology. He says the clinic anticipates spending an additional $225,000 on renovations to the facility. Reynolds says since the building has been used as a medical facility in the past, it won’t require many structural changes. Most of the work, Reynolds says, will be cosmetic upgrades. The clinic will have 16 exam rooms — though it’s possible that some won’t be needed right away. The clinic plans to be operational in its new space by September. Heartland Cardiology is working with Cook Construction on parts of the renovation. The clinic will leave a 4,950-square-foot space at 8710 W. 13th Street North, a site in a Wesley Medical Center medical office building that Heartland has been operating out of for nearly five years. Heartland’s cardiologists staffed that site on a rotational basis. Reynolds says it is yet to be determined how the new space will be staffed. It’s possible that at least one cardiologist might be stationed there permanently. Another option would allow doctors to spend more time at the site during their rotation. Reynolds says the goal of the new space is to expand Heartland’s services in west Wichita. The practice also operates clinics at 551 N. Hillside, across from Wesley’s main hospital campus, and at 9300 E. 29th Street North, in the Cypress Medical Park
