Jennifer C. Baril

Biography

Jennifer Baril began working for her first law firm as a college sophomore.  “I was fortunate to have many great mentors who provided me with exposure to the courtroom”, she said.  “It was that exposure that sparked my interest to pursue a law degree.” Graduating in the top 10% of her undergraduate class with a degree in mass communications and a concentration of public relations, Jennifer enjoys public speaking.  While preferring to settle cases out of court, she is not intimidated by the thought of proceeding to hearing when necessary. Jennifer graduated from law school in an accelerated program lasting only two and a half years. While in law school, she participated in mock trial competitions and earned three book awards, including awards in Public Speaking for Lawyers, Advanced Legal Research, and Federal Sentencing During her college and law school careers, Jennifer obtained nearly six years of civil litigation experience within multiple plaintiffs’ firms.  Her experience within plaintiffs’ firms affords her an edge in the defense of her clients’ claims since she understands many of the strategies deployed by plaintiffs’ attorneys. A believer in serving her community, Jennifer serves as a volunteer attorney for Guardian Ad Litem and The Child’s Advocate to represent the legal interests of children involved in high conflict custody disputes. Jennifer enjoys participating in athletic events during her time outside of the office and has recently completed multiple obstacle course races as well as a half marathon.  Born and raised in Maryland, she is also an avid Baltimore Ravens football fan. Jennifer currently resides in the Raleigh area with her husband and two dogs.
