Biography

    Mr. Michael J. Sweeney, also known as Mike, PE has been President of Eastern U.S. at HNTB Corporation since July 17, 2017. Mr. Sweeney served as Northeast Division President at HNTB Corporation until July 17, 2017. Mr. Sweeney served as Senior Vice President and District Leader at HNTB Corporation since November 2012. Mr. Sweeney was responsible for driving the successful operation of HNTB’s offices in the region, including New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Before joining HNTB, he served as National Transit Leader for TranSystems. Prior to that, he served as a Vice President at AECOM, responsible for its transit work in the eastern United States and Canada. He is an active member of American Public Transportation Association and its high-speed rail committee, the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association and the New York Building Congress. Mr. Sweeney has a Master of Science in construction engineering and management from Polytechnic Institute of New York University and a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn.
