Biography
Holds the prestigious Royal Society Professorship in Physical and Theoretical Chemistry at the University of Oxford, prior to which she was the first female Professor of Chemistry at the University of Cambridge. Her pioneering structural biology research into three-dimensional structure of proteins and macromolecular complexes such as GroEL, ribosomes and defining changes in their conformation and assembly, has resulted in numerous awards including UNESCO Awards for Women in Science and Interdisciplinary Prize by the Royal Society of Chemistry. Dr Robinson is a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences, Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire and in 2017 she was elected to the US National Academy of Sciences.
