Biography
I am currently conducting independent basic science research while simultaneously completing a residency in General Pediatrics at Mount Sinai. My research focuses on understanding the neurobiological basis for resilience, i.e. the brain wiring that gives some individuals the ability to withstand adversity. Currently, my lab is working on a mouse model of social defeat and developing predictive measures of resilience using a combination of behavioral tasks, high resolution confocal microscopy, and resting state fRMI. My ultimate goal is to pioneer "developmental neuroprevention" by creating tools that will enhance resiliency neural networks in children, thereby leading to happier, healthier lives.
