Biography
I am Dr. David M. Kleist, Professor of Counseling at Idaho State of University. I received a Ph.D. from Southern Illinois University in year 1995.
Research Interest
My broad scholarly interests include couple and family counselling, ethics, and instructional theory. More specifically, I am interested in the influences of postmodern philosophy on the areas above (i.e., use of reflecting teams, social constructionist theory) and its impact on the future of counsellor education. Additionally, I am concerned with increasing the field's awareness of the importance of training counsellors in the skills of prevention as well as remediation (i.e., treatment) and who (and whose interests) will influence the future of counsellor education.
