Biography
Dr. Randy Astramovich, Assistant Professor of Counseling at Idaho State University. Received Ph.D. from University of North Texas in year 2000.
Research Interest
His research has focused on the nexus of evaluation, advocacy, and professional identity among school and mental health counselors. Much of his early data-based research helped identify the need for professional counselors to be trained more extensively in research and evaluation skills – a finding that led him to create a counselor-driven program evaluation model for use in school and mental health settings. To date he has published 27 articles, 4 book chapters, and a book, Organizing & Evaluating Data-Driven School Counseling Program. His research has appeared in leading counseling journals including Journal of Counseling & Development, Counselor Education & Supervision, and Professional School Counseling. Dr. Astramovich has served in numerous national roles, most recently as President of the Association for Child & Adolescent Counseling.
