Biography
Dr. Picard earned his doctorate in Accountancy from the University of Kentucky. Formally with KPMG Peat Marwick’s private business advisory group, Dr. Picard also served as CFO of Towle Companies, a financial services group of companies in Minneapolis, MN. Dr. Picard has received teaching awards from the University of Minnesota and the University of Kentucky. He is currently active in the design of environmental auditing systems and experiential education curriculum components for business students.
Research Interest
Dr. Picard’s areas of expertise include strategic cost management, performance-based auditing, and management control systems design and implementation. He has conducted training workshops for KPMG Peat Marwick, US West, Basic American Foods, the Institute of Management Accountants, and the Idaho Small Business Development Center. Additionally, Dr. Picard consulted with Lockheed Technologies Company, Fiesta Mart, the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes, Great Lakes Home Medical and Florida Medical Providers, among others.
