Biography
Mzago Dokhturishvili graduated from the Pedagogical Institute of Foreign Languages at Ilia State University in 1971. In 1978, he graduated two-year higher education courses from the Moscow Pedagogical Institute of Foreign Languages. In 1982, he defended his thesis at the abovementioned University. During 1982-1993, he anchored French language lessons on the First National Channel television in Georgia. During 1994-2006, he headed the French language department of Ilia Chavchavadze State University of Language and Culture. He headed the Georgian-European programme “French as a foreign language / Applied Foreign Languages” during 2000 -2010, which was founded by Paul Valéry University – in cooperation with Montpellier 3, and graduates of which have received a double (English and French) diploma. He is coordinator of cooperation between the Ilia State University and the University of Montpellier. Is Head of the Central and Eastern European Humanities University Graduate College -CODFREURCOR since 2012. Is representative of the Central and Eastern European universities at the AFELSH Executive Committee. Edits the annual French magazine – “Etudes interdisciplinaires en Sciences humaines”.
