Andrew Duggan

Biography

 Andrew Duggan is Vice President and General Manager of Insitu Commercial. In this role, he is responsible for further driving the company’s growth in the rapidly expanding and hyper-competitive commercial market. This includes expanding the capability for Insitu RPAS to operate in international airspace and growing Insitu’s Solutions business within the commercial space on a global scale. Prior to this role, Andrew was Managing Director of Insitu Pacific since the company’s inception in 2009 and led it through a significant growth period, capturing major Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) contracts with defence forces in Singapore, Japan, Malaysia and the UAE. More recently he has led Insitu Pacific’s growing role in the Commercial uses of UAS and other autonomous systems securing contracts with the BHP Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA) and Queensland Gas Corporation (QGC).  Andrew came to Insitu Pacific from Boeing Defence Australia, where he was the Senior Manager of Unmanned Systems Operations. He joined Boeing Australia in 2000 as an operations analyst in the System Analysis Laboratory, before moving into a Business Development Manager role and working on JP-129 (tactical UAS) and AATTS (rotary wing training). Following this he formed the new advanced unmanned systems group in 2005, where he led the development of the initial ScanEagle contract for the Australian Army. After the initial contract for ScanEagle was signed in October 2006, Andrew was appointed senior manager of unmanned systems operations in 2007 and managed BDA’s autonomous systems focused business. Through his various roles with Boeing and Insitu Pacific, Andrew has more than.10 year’s leadership experience in the development and application of autonomous systems technologies.  Andrew graduated from the University of Tasmania with a Bachelor's degree in Economics, and then from the Royal Military College, Duntroon, as an Australian Army officer. He spent six years serving in the Australian Army in Intelligence Corps, with a significant portion of this time spent serving in Electronic Warfare roles.
