Biography
Dr. Leon Patrick Valbrun is currently the Director of Inpatient Psychiatric service at Interfaith Medical Center. He graduated from the Medical school of Haiti. He completed a residency in psychiatry at the Mars and Kline Institute in Haiti. He migrated to the USA and completed a second residency at Harlem Hospital Medical Center in affiliation with Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center. Dr. Valbrun was chief resident in Psychiatry. He then became the Chief of the Psychiatric Emergency room, subsequently, the Director of CPEP at Harlem Hospital Medical Center. He also served as a Director of Psychiatry at Saint Mary’s Hospital, as acting Chairman of Psychiatry at Caritas. Dr. Valbrun is Board certified in Psychiatry and he has added qualifications in Geriatric, Forensic and Addiction Psychiatry. He is fluent in Creole, French and Spanish. He has Master in Psychology from the Institute of Psychology of Haiti.
