Biography
Mr. Cary W. Ludtke has been Strategic Business Advisor of Intermap Technologies Corp. since August 24, 2016. Mr. Ludtke serves as an Advisor to Blackstone's Entrepreneurs Network. Mr. Ludtke served as a Vice President of Ball Aerospace & Technologies Corp until January 6, 2016 and served as its General Manager of Commercial Space from December 2, 2015 to January 6, 2016. Mr. Ludtke served as General Manager of Operational Space at Ball Aerospace & Technologies Corp. until December 2, 2015. Mr. Ludtke has 32 years of executive, managerial and engineering experience in the remote sensing technology space. Mr. Ludtke served as a Vice President and General Manager of Civil and Operational Space at QinetiQ Consulting Pty., Ltd. He has proven experience in Spacecraft and Space Instrument Management, Systems and Design Engineering and Management of its commercial space Operations. Mr. Ludtke directed Commercial Space Operations (CSO) for Ball Aerospace from 2001 to October 2005. He served as a Vice President of Engineering and Technology Products (ETP) since 2001. He served as a Senior Program Manager of the QuikSCAT program – a 12-month, fixed price spacecraft development program for Goddard Space Flight Center’s Rapid Spacecraft Acquisition (RSA) office from 1997 to 1999. Prior to QuikSCAT, he served in systems and design engineering roles on several other successful programs, most involving cutting edge remote sensing technologies. Mr. Ludtke led the EarthWatch Quick Bird program team as Deputy Program Manager and Lead Systems Engineer in the development of a commercial fixed price, low earth orbit remote sensing spacecraft. From 1993 to 1995, he served as a Lead Systems Engineer and Technical Manager, overseeing all technical activities and systems engineering design of the EarlyBird payload, a two-axis Gimbaled Scanning Mirror. From 1984 to 1993, he worked at General Electric Corp. In 1986, he established his expertise as Mechanical Design Engineer, especially in his work on the Ball Aerospace Space Telescope Imaging Spectrograph (STIS) and Corrective Optics Space Telescope Axial Replacement (COSTAR) programs; as Mechanical Systems Engineer on the Optical Aircraft Measurement Program (OAMP) and laser communications projects. He served as a Director of Intermap Technologies Corp. since July 2016 until August 24, 2016. He completed Ball Aerospace leadership and management development programs, optical systems design training. He served as the Chairman of QinetiQ Consulting Pty., Ltd. He completed coursework at the University of Michigan (Design of Optical Systems, Principals and Practice of Concurrent Engineering); at the American Management Association (Fundamentals of Finance and Accounting). He holds the Pride in Excellence and NASA Design Excellence awards. Mr. Ludtke is a member of the Government Electronics and Information Association and the American Astronautical Society. Mr. Ludtke has also been Published in Scientific Journals, Reports and Presentations. He holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Brigham Young University. He has completed the AIA Executive Program for High Technology Companies at Stanford University.
