Biography
Michael S. Weinert is Vice President, Engineering and Manufacturing, John Deere Power Systems, a position he has held since June 2010. Weinert provides the overall strategic direction and leadership for the global development and manufacture of John Deere diesel engines. Weinert began his career with John Deere in 1977 as an engineer at the Product Engineering Center (PEC), Waterloo, Iowa. He completed several assignments at PEC and the John Deere Technical Center, and in August 1991, began a four-year assignment with Engine Engineering in Saran, France. In August 1995, Weinert was appointed Manager, Advanced Manufacturing, John Deere Power Systems. Since then he has held positions of increasing responsibility including Manufacturing Manager, Motores John Deere, Torreon, Mexico; Engine Operations Manager, John Deere Dubuque Works; John Deere Engine Works Factory Manager; and Applications Engine Engineering Manager. Immediately prior to his current position, Weinert was Director, Worldwide Engine Engineering, John Deere Power Systems.
