Michael E. Daniels

Biography

Michael E. Daniels, also known as Mike, has been an Independent Director at Thomson Reuters Corporation since May 22, 2014 and Tyco Ireland Ltd. since November 17, 2014. Mr. Daniels has been an Independent Director of Johnson Controls International plc (formerly, Johnson Controls Inc.) since March 2010. He serves as a Director of The Japan Society. He served as the Senior Vice President of Global Technology Services unit at IBM Global Services U.S. of IBM Canada Limited since July 2005. He served as Senior Vice President and Group Executive of Services at International Business Machines Corp., from 2005 to March 31, 2013. Mr. Daniels was world widely responsible for IBM’s Global Services business operations in outsourcing services, integrated technology services, maintenance and Global Business Services. He was a Member of the IBM Performance Team and served as IBM's Senior State Executive for Connecticut. He served as Head of the Overall Services Group at International Business Machines Corp. since July 2010. Mr. Daniels oversaw the go-to-market and business line management for IBM's offerings in strategic outsourcing, integrated technology services, small-and-medium business services, maintenance and IBM Global Financing. At IBM, he served as General Manager of sales and distribution operations in the Americas, spanning Canada, Latin America and United States and Head of Global Services in Asia Pacific. For three years, he oversaw sales and support of the full range of IBM's products and services, generating more than $40 billion in annual revenue. He led IBM Global Services in the Asia Pacific region from October 1999 to January 2002. From 1994 to 1999, he served several General Manager positions within IBM's services business. He joined IBM in 1976 in Washington, DC, where he held a broad range of leadership positions in sales, marketing and services. He served as Director of SS&C Technologies Holdings, Inc. since October 8, 2013. Mr. Daniels served as an Independent Director at Tyco International plc (formerly, Tyco International Ltd) since March 2010. He served as a Director of SpaceWorks, Inc. He is a Trustee of Holy Cross College, Massachusetts. Mr. Daniels has a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Holy Cross College in Massachusetts.
