Debashis Basu

Biography

 Debashis Basu is Senior Vice President of Engineering and leads Juniper’s Silicon and Systems Technologies organization. In this role, Basu is responsible for all ASIC development as well as providing all technology solutions for Juniper systems, including signal integrity, mechanical, thermal, power supply and more. Previously Basu served as Vice President of ASIC development.At 16-year veteran of Juniper, Basu has held several senior management roles and been a driving force behind Juniper’s strong track record for delivering bleeding edge silicon and systems technology. He joined Juniper in 1998 as an individual contributor and chip lead on the T640 chipset. Since then, Basu has directly contributed to major product families including the M Series Routers, T Series Core Routers, MX Series 3D Universal Edge Routers, and PTX Series Packet Transport Routers. Basu’s background and experience includes key engineering roles at C-Cube Microsystems, Silicon Graphics, Tandem Computers and Advanced Micro Devices. Along the way, he has had over 20 Juniper patents issued.Basu holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering from Jadavpur University, and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from State University of New York at Stony Brook. Additionally, he completed the Stanford Executive Program at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
