Gina Richman

Biography

BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH: Dr. Richman received her bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara in developmental psychology, continuing her education at Florida State University where she received her master’s degree and her doctoral degree in child clinical psychology and school psychology. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and her post-doctoral fellowship at The Kennedy Krieger Institute and The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Dr. Richman has been a licensed psychologist as well as a certified school psychologist in Maryland since 1989. She is also a member of the National Register. Dr. Richman has held positions as the co-director of outpatient services and director of training for the Department of Behavioral Psychology at Kennedy Krieger Institute before becoming the director of the Child and Family Therapy Clinic in 1990. Dr. Richman is a member of the APA-approved Internship Training Committee and her training program encompasses trainees at the undergraduate (senior year interns), graduate (third and fourth year doctoral practicum students), doctoral (APA-approved Doctoral Internship Program) and post-doctoral level. Dr. Richman is a clinical psychologist with expertise in family therapy. She uses a range of therapeutic modalities including, structural, strategic, systems and cognitive-behavioral approaches to treating families, children and adolescents, with internalizing and externalizing behavioral presenting concerns. Dr. Richman utilizes an evidenced-based approach to her clinical work and in her supervision of the trainees in her clinic.
