Biography
BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH: Dr. Rooker earned his doctoral degree in psychology (behavior analysis) in 2010. He then completed a post-doctoral internship at the Kennedy Krieger Institute, and in the Department of Pediatrics at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 2012. He is a board certified behavior analyst. He is a member of the Association for Behavior Analysis and the Maryland Association for Behavior Analysis. RESEARCH SUMMARY: Dr. Rooker's research has focused on severe behavior problems (e.g., self-injury, aggression) in individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Dr. Rooker’s research emphasizes comprehensive examination of assessment and treatment procedures to determine the most efficient and effective (immediately and in long-term application) procedures for clinical care. Dr. Rooker has been a research team member for NIH-funded grants that explore the implications of basic behavioral processes and related theories for behavioral assessment and treatment.
