Biography

BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH: Dr. Zarcone obtained her doctoral degree from the University of Florida, Department of Psychology. She is a board certified behavior analyst (BCBA-D) and a licensed psychologist. She has served on the Board of Directors for the Association for Positive Behavior Support and as Chair of the Practice Board, a member of the Science Board, and as conference coordinator for the annual Autism Conference for the Association of Behavior Analysis (ABAI). She was recently awarded the honor of ABAI Fellow. She has served as an associate editor for the Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis and serves on the board of editors for the American Journal on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and Behavior Analysis: Research and Practice. Her areas of expertise are in supporting children and families with autism, behavior disorders, and Prader-Willi syndrome, and conducting clinical trials of medications and behavioral interventions. RESEARCH SUMMARY: Dr. Zarcone has obtained NIH grant funding in the areas of functional analysis and clinical trials, as well as evaluating neuroanatomical functioning associated with hyperphagia in people with Prader-Willi syndrome as well as people with obesity. She has served as a co-investigator on several multi-center clinical trials in autism research at the University of Rochester Medical Center and at the Kennedy Krieger Institute. She is interested in further development of research in the effects of parent training, pharmacological and behavioral interventions for children with behavior disorders.
