Paul Sponseller

Biography

BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH: Dr. Sponseller graduated in 1980 with a medical degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He completed his internship and residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. He continued his education with his fellowship at the Children's Hospital in Boston. Dr. Sponseller also received his master's of science in the business of medicine in 1998 and his master's of business administration in 2000. Dr. Sponseller is currently the chief of pediatric orthopedics at Johns Hopkins University and holds a staff position with Kennedy Krieger Institute. RESEARCH SUMMARY: Dr. Sponseller is involved in clinical research in genetic conditions afecting the skeleton. These include natural history as well as treatment studies. In addition, he is pursuing a number of studies on cerebral palsy as it affects the skeleton.
