Biography
David Sinclair was named to his current position in January 2008 and is responsible for coal and gas procurement for the generation fleet, wholesale electricity sales and purchases, generation dispatch, long-term sales forecasting, generation planning, energy market analysis and research and development. He has more than 30 years of experience in the utility industry and has been with the company since October 1994. Prior to joining the company, Sinclair began his career as an economist for the state of Arizona and held roles in planning, finance and forecasting at Arizona Public Service Company and Salt River Project. He was a Business Developer for LG&E Power before becoming LG&E Energy Marketing’s Director of Product Management. He held the position of Director of Energy Planning, Analysis and Forecasting before being promoted to his current position. Sinclair holds a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Science in economics from Arizona State University, and a Bachelor of Arts in economics from the University of Missouri, Kansas City. Sinclair is on the Board of Junior Achievement of Kentuckiana. He is a 2008 graduate of Leadership Louisville and a 2011 Bingham Fellow. Since 2013, Sinclair has been a member of the Kentucky Consensus Forecasting Group, a non-partisan committee of economists that provide revenue forecasts for the general fund and road fund.
