Kent W. Blake

Biography

Kent W. Blake was named to his current position in 2012. He has over 25 years of experience working in and serving the electric and natural gas utility industry. Blake began his career as a certified public accountant in the Louisville office of Arthur Andersen serving clients in a variety of industries including electric and natural gas companies. Prior to his current role, he served as Vice President - Corporate Planning and Development and Vice President - State Regulation and Rates. He previously held senior management roles in the areas of Corporate Accounting, Trading Controls, and Business Development. Blake also previously held senior management positions in trading operations and information technology with Mirant Corporation in Atlanta. Blake received a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Kentucky. He received his certified public accounting certification in Kentucky shortly thereafter. He has completed numerous management and executive training courses during his career, including a two-year international executive development program under the company’s previous owner. Blake is a 2007 graduate of Leadership Louisville and is active in the community. He currently serves on the boards of Metro United Way and the University of Louisville - College of Business Board of Advisors. Blake is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Finance Executive Advisory Committee of the Edison Electric Institute.
